The Austrian writer-director super duo of Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala are back, following up their sublime, terrifying 2014 arthouse horror hit GOODNIGHT MOMMY with THE LODGE, a bone-chilling nightmare that dominated the film fest circuit in 2019 (including Best Picture nominations at Sitges, Fantasia, and more). Riley Keough (MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, AMERICAN HONEY) stars as a soon-to-be stepmom who is snowed in with her fiancé’s two children at a remote holiday village. Just as relations begin to thaw between the trio, some strange and frightening events take place. Isolated and alone, a blizzard traps them inside the lodge as terrifying events summon specters from Grace’s dark past. With Alicia Silverstone, Richard Armitage, Jaeden Martell, Lia McHugh.

“Riley Keough’s work is so strong, so effective, that by the time we learn the ultimate fate of Grace, we would have bought into any of the possible options.” (Chicago Sun-Times)

“If “The Lodge” doesn’t answer all the questions it poses, that’s okay. Its strength lies in its ability to stir a reaction, and that feeling lasts longer than its explanations. It’s a trip you won’t forget.” (Detroit News)

“‘The Lodge’ is gimmick-free; if you’re looking for jump scares, or even lots of thrills, this is not where to look. This is slow-burn, psychological fare that isn’t intended to raise the pulse so much as engage us emotionally.” (Parade Magazine)

“The key to her insidious and frightening performance is that by the end you’re not sure whether to fear her or fear for her.” (Los Angeles Times)
