Written and directed by Matteo Rovere and inspired by the true story of story of rally racing driver Carlo Capone, ITALIAN RACE (‘Veloce come il vento’) tells the story of the De Martino family, who have been putting together racing cars for generations. Promising 17 year-old daughter Giulia, an aspiring GT driver, (Matilda De Angelis) finds her life falling apart when her debt-ridden father Mario passes away, and she has to take over the business. In order to succeed and reach her dreams, she must seek the help of her older brother (Loris De Martino), a former champion rally driver – and current drug addict. Together, they return to the track to win while escaping their demons and learning what it means – and how hard it is – to be a family.
