In Fabric
From acclaimed cult British filmmaker Peter Strickland (THE DUKE OF BURGUNDY, BERBERIAN SOUND STUDIO) comes IN FABRIC, a highly stylized, gauzy giallo that might best be described as, “a surreal sartorial horror yarn.” In this darkly comic tale about a possessed dressed, Oscar-nominee Marianne Jean-Baptiste (SECRETS & LIES) plays Sheila, a lonely bank clerk looking for love who buys the ill-starred garment from an oddball department store who soon finds herself entangled in a real-life costume drama. A lonely divorcee visits a bewitching London department store to find a dress to transform her life. She soon finds a perfect, artery-red gown that unleashes a malevolent, unstoppable curse. With Gwendoline Christie, Julian Barratt, Hayley Squires.
“A wonderfully weird movie about a killer dress.” (Los Angeles Times)
“Hypnotic and wondrous… Equal parts Lynch and Argento.” (IndieWire)
“Top notch. Spooky and primal.” (Rolling Stone)
“If you haven’t yet guessed, Strickland’s real terror concerns our addiction to buying things, and In Fabric goes way beyond zombies in a mall.” (Time Out)
