Eric Fell, Gina Harms, Patrick Maliha, and K.C. Novak are Vancouver’s masters of movie riffing, making ‘so-bad-they’re-good’ movies even better by talking you through them. This time, their subject is the 2004 Ryan Gosling classic THE NOTEBOOK, just in time for Valentine’s Day!
Over the past six years, The Gentlemen Hecklers have built up a loyal cult following in Vancouver and recently brought their talents to a wider audience thanks to the critically acclaimed Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode “Cry Wilderness” on Netflix! They are very excited to bring their show to JFL NorthWest for the fourth year in a row.

THE NOTEBOOK (John Cassavetes, 2004, 123 mins) | An epic love story centered around an older man who reads aloud to an older, invalid woman whom he regularly visits. From a faded notebook, the old man’s words bring to life the story about a couple who is separated by World War II, and is then passionately reunited, seven years later, after they have taken different paths. Though her memory has faded, his words give her the chance to relive her turbulent youth and the unforgettable love they shared.
