The Man Who Killed Don Quixote

Today's a marvelous day for adventures!

In visionary director Terry Gilliam‘s long-awaited fantasy THE MAN WHO KILLED DON  QUIXOTE, Adam Driver plays Toby, a cynical but supposedly genius film director who finds himself trapped in the outrageous delusions of an old Spanish shoe-maker… Who believes himself to be Don Quixote. In the course of their comic and increasingly surreal adventures, Toby is forced to confront the tragic repercussions of a film he made in his idealistic youth – a film that changed the hopes and dreams of a small Spanish village forever. Can Toby make amends and regain his humanity? Can Don Quixote survive his madness and imminent death? Or will love conquer all? Also starring Jonathan Pryce, Stellan Skarsgård, Olga Kurylenko.

“The end result is messy, ragged, uneven, all over the place. But it’s also the single best Gilliam film to hit theaters in 20 years.” (Rolling Stone)

“The story doesn’t follow Cervantes in every detail, but there is no mistaking Gilliam’s deep appreciation of the book. “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote” works best as an exuberant, not always disciplined work of critical appropriation.” (The NYTimes)

“Adam Driver brings a Nicolas Cage-esque zeal to his terrifically loony performance as Toby.” (Chicago Sun-Times)
