Song to Song

Love. Obsession. Betrayal.

Legendary director Terrence Malick‘s latest feature SONG TO SONG features a star-studded cast (including Ryan Gosling, Natalie Portman, Michael Fassbender, and Rooney Mara) in a modern love story set against the Austin, Texas music scene. Dreamy and languid, the film follows two entangled couples–struggling songwriters Faye (Mara) and BV (Gosling), and music mogul Cook (Fassbender) and the waitress whom he ensnares (Natalie Portman)–chase success through a rock ‘n’ roll landscape of seduction and betrayal. Also starring Val Kilmer, Cate Blanchett, and Holly Hunter alongside a killer soundtrack that includes Patti Smith and Iggy Pop (who also appear in the film), Die Antwoord, Bob Dylan, the Black Lips, and more.

“The haughtily unenlightened can joke and snipe and snore all the want. As evinced by Song to Song, Malick is operating in top form. If only we’d be bothered to do the work of making sense of it.” (The Globe and Mail)

Go, fall into its embrace, resist its charms, argue. This may not be a film to love, but it is a film to see.” (The New York Times)
