Shaun of the Dead

A romantic comedy. (With zombies.)

“You’ve got red on you.”

We’re kicking off the Canada Day long weekend with the ultimate rom-com-zom Friday Late Night Movie: SHAUN OF THE DEAD! Since the release of his breakout hit in 2004, British writer-director Edgar Wright has cemented himself in the pop-culture landscape with several films  that have all become instant pop-culture classics (SCOTT PILGRIM vs. THE WORLD) in their own right. In this cult rom-zom-com, Simon Pegg stars as Shaun, a 30-something loser with a dull, easy existence. When he’s not working at the electronics store, he lives with his slovenly best friend, Ed (Nick Frost), in a small flat on the outskirts of London. The only unpredictable element in his life is his girlfriend, Liz, who wishes desperately for Shaun to grow up and be a man. When the town is inexplicably overrun with zombies, Shaun must rise to the occasion and protect both Liz and his mother from being eaten. With Lucy Davis, Matt Lucas, Bill Nigh, Martin Freeman, Penelope Wilton.
