Love & Mercy

The Life, Love and Genius of Brian Wilson

Nominated for two Golden Globe Awards (including Best Supporting Actor, Paul Dano and Best Original Song) LOVE & MERCY tells its story in an unconventional, if not unwieldy way – much like the life of its principle subject, Beach Boy Brian Wilson. Wilson famously struggled with emerging psychosis while he crafted his avant-garde pop masterpiece, ‘Pet Sounds,’ and by the 1980s was a broken, confused man under the 24-hour watch of shady therapist. The film charts Wilson’s story with two actors in two decades; Dano covers the 1960s era while John Cusack portrays the famously reclusive Wilson in the 80s. Also starring Paul Giamatti and Elizabeth Banks.

“The performances are universally great, and the subject matter is captivating.” (Toronto Sun)

“To capture the artistic process in this way is extraordinary, and in many ways unprecedented.” (New York Daily News)

“It has the two things a Brian Wilson story needs above all: a sense of mystery and the right vibrations – good, bad, weird.” (Vulture)
