The Gentlemen Hecklers Present: Independence Day

Earth. Take a good look. It might be your last.

“Nuke ’em. Let’s nuke the bastards. “

On Wednesday, November 9, The Gentlemen Hecklers return to the Rio Theatre with the ultimate post-US election night sci-fi-action thriller: INDEPENDENCE DAY. Yes, the Gentlemen are going all out (Big Willie Style!) with one of the 90s’ biggest and baddest (in a good way) guilty pleasures that asks the ultimate the-aliens-are-coming apocalyptic hypotheticals, “What if?”

In Roland Emmerich’s effects-filled blockbuster fantasy, Will Smith stars as an Air Force pilot tasked with hunting aliens in a bid to save save mankind. Bill Pullman is the handsome and heroic President America really wanted in the 90s. And Jeff Goldblum is, well, still managing to kick ass as cinema’s most convincingly hunky, endearing master of science-ness. Also starring Vivica A. Fox, Judd Hirsch, Harvey Fierstein, Harry Connick, Jr. and Randy Quaid (!).

Let The Gentlemen Hecklers provide you with their unique brand of live, hilarious commentary – for the best cheesy movies! Eric Fell, Patrick Maliha, and Shaun Stewart are Vancouver’s masters of movie riffing, making so-bad-they’re-good movies even better by talking you through them.
