Hustlers

Walk all over Wall Street...

Inspired by author Jessica Pressler‘s 2015 cover story “The Hustlers at Scores,” a modern-day Robin Hood story that exposed the true tale of a crew of New York City strippers who, “stole from (mostly) rich, (usually) disgusting men and gave to, well, themselves,” writer-director Lorene Scafaria‘s HUSTLERS has emerged as one of 2019’s sleeper hits. Led by a career-best performance from a pitch-perfect Jennifer Lopez (who has earned a Golden Globe nod for her turn), HUSTLERS is a funny, naughty, and completely entertaining kick in the pants (that also, very capably, passes the Bechdel Test). Also starring Constance Wu, Julia Stiles, Trace Lysette, Keke Palmer, Mercedes Ruehl, Lili Reinhart, Frank Whaley, Cardi B, Lizzo.

“It’s easy to get lost in the visceral joy that comes with watching women move this way.” (Bitch Media)

“This is a deeply feminist film, one where men are given less screen time than the cameoing Cardi B and Lizzo.” (Time Out)

“Led by a career-best performance from Jennifer Lopez, ‘Hustlers’ is a uniquely empowering heist drama with depth and intelligence to match its striking visual appeal.” (Rotten Tomatoes)

“A lean, fierce take on the nature of female empowerment in an inherently corrupted world.” (Independent – UK)
