Hard Boiled

As a cop, he has brains, brawn, and an instinct to kill.

Legendary Hong Kong director John Woo‘s kinetic extravaganza HARD BOILED thrilled critics and audiences around the world with its over-the-top, highly stylized action sequences and choreographed gunplay when it was released in 1992, and it is no less stunning almost 30 years later.

Superstar Chow Yun-fat stars as Officer “Tequila” Yuen, a maverick cop who loses his partner Benny (Bowie Lam) in a shoot-out with gun smugglers gone awry. Following the ambush, he proceeds upon a mission to catch the killers. In order to get closer to the leaders of the ring, he joins forces with an undercover cop named Alan (Tony Leung) who’s posing as a gangster hitman.
