Jellicle cats unite! What’s left to be said about CATS that hasn’t already been said? The long-awaited, and much maligned, feature film adaptation of the blockbuster musical CATS lands at the Rio Theatre on Monday, August 8 – International Cat Day!

Despite its illustrious pedigree courtesy of Andrew Lloyd Webber and its ridiculously all-star cast led by Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Hudson, Idris Elba, James Corden, Rebel Wilson, Taylor Swift and celebrated dancer Francesca Hayward, the movie — directed by THE KING’S SPEECH Oscar winner Tom Hooper — has not, ummm, met “expectations.”

Some may even say that it’s destined for cinema’s filthiest kitty litter box.

Which means… It’s purrrr-fect Rio Theatre viewing!
