The Speaker:

As an undersized kid who wanted to be a cowboy, Kelly Cordes never dreamed that the mountains would define his life. But he stumbled upon an obsession that delivered unimaginable joys alongside seemingly endless flops, both of which still frame his attempts to navigate his little world. His personal experiences in climbing and in life intersected with a larger journey as he sought to uncover the truth in his award-winning book The Tower: A Chronicle of Climbing and Controversy on Cerro Torre.

The Films:

Notes From The Wall
In February 2017 three of world’s best and Belgian climbers, Sean Villanueva O’Driscoll, Nicolas Favresse and Siebe Vanhee again made it to the press by free-climbing successfully one of the hardest routes of Patagonia, “El Regalo de Mwono”, a 1200-meter-high route on the east side of Torre Central, Torres del Paine. Back home, they asked filmmaker Guillaume Lion to edit the footage of their 19-day-long vertical journey. The result is a powerful and entertaining film that tells a profound story of companionship.

Tierra Del Viento
Tierra del Viento takes us on a beautiful road trip with fine-art photographer Eliseo Miciu as he sets out to capture Patagonia’s moving soul. You drive and drive and wind is the constant. Wind defines the landscape, the lifestyle, the habits… Just about everything here. Eliseo’s breathtaking pictures transport us to a seemingly different time and space. We follow him as he challenges the wind, perches from dazzling heights on a Condor’s nest and crawls though windswept grasslands to catch a glimpse of elusive wild horses.Between the flurry of activity of the photo shoots he finds himself surrounded by the vast emptiness of Patagonia. Calm conversations fill the countless long hours spent driving and slowly reveal the artist’s bumpy road to pursuing his true vocation.
