The Wedding Singer (25th Anniversary Screening!)

He's gonna party like it's 1985.

“Hey, psycho – we’re not gonna discuss this, OK, it’s over. Please get out of my Van Halen t-shirt before you jinx the band and they break up.”

Join us at the Rio Theatre as we kick off the Just For Laughs Vancouver festival with a very special, 25th Anniversary screening of one of our all-time favourite romantic comedies, THE WEDDING SINGER.

THE WEDDING SINGER is a giant slice of sweet romantic comedy perfection thanks to the the unlikely yet somehow perfectly quirky pairing of Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, and its inherently goofy mid-80s setting.

In one of his most memorable comedic turns, Sandler stars as Robbie, a wedding singer. He meets Julia (Barrymore) a waitress working one of his gigs. While they hit it off, it turns out they they are both engaged… But to the wrong people. Hilarity ensues! (As does a solid mix of memorable 80s hits, more than a few weird hairdos, and some great supporting performances from Christine Taylor, Ellen Dow, Alexis Arquette, Steve Buscemi and Billy Idol.
