Join us at the Rio Theatre for of one of our all-time favourite double bills, James Cameron‘s original 1984 dystopian masterpiece THE TERMINATOR (which was beautofully restored and remastered for its 40th Anniversary in 2024)followed by its 1991 sequel, TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY.

Disguised as a human, a seemingly indestructible cyborg assassin known as a Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) travels from 2029 to 1984 to kill Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton). Sent to protect Sarah is Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn), who divulges the coming of Skynet, an artificial intelligence system that will spark a nuclear holocaust. Sarah is targeted because Skynet knows that her unborn son will lead the fight against them. With the virtually unstoppable Terminator in hot pursuit, she and Kyle attempt to escape.

THE TERMINATOR (James Cameron, 1984 / 108 mins / PG) In the post-apocalyptic future, reigning tyrannical supercomputers teleport a cyborg assassin known as the “Terminator” back to 1984 to kill Sarah Connor, whose unborn son is destined to lead insurgents against 21st century mechanical hegemony.
