The Monkey

Everybody dies. And that's fucked up.

Based on the Stephen King short story, and produced by James Wan (THE CONJURING, SAW), THE MONKEY is a new trip from LONGLEGS writer/director, Osgood Perkins. When twin brothers find a mysterious wind-up monkey, a series of outrageous deaths tear their family apart. Twenty-five years later, the monkey begins a new killing spree forcing the estranged brothers to confront the cursed toy. With Theo James, Elijah Wood, Tatiana Maslany, Rohan Campbell, Sarah Levy, Adam Scott, Oz Perkins.

“The film, shot in oily gloom by Nico Aguilar, sets out to dispatch every passerby in fashions that would appal Caligula. Good old-fashioned disgusting fun. I had a blast.” (Irish Times)

“In the hands of another director, the tone could wobble too wildly. Perkins is a specialist in making childhood trauma feel grounded and relatable, however, and that holds true for the loopy scares of his latest movie.” (The Atlantic)
