In 2021, Lana Wachowski surprised sci-fi fans around the world with another foray into the beloved Matrix franchise, thanks to the somewhat unexpected reboot The Matrix Resurrections. This fourth installment (and likely end) to the thrilling cyberpunk saga has stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss returning to reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity, re-vists many of the engrossing characters and plot elements and addresses many of the burning philosophical and existential questions left smouldering since the last film, 2003’s The Matrix Revolutions.

To find out if his reality is a physical or mental construct, Mr. Anderson, aka Neo, will have to choose to follow the white rabbit once more. If he’s learned anything, it’s that choice, while an illusion, is still the only way out of — or into — the Matrix. Neo already knows what he has to do, but what he doesn’t yet know is that the Matrix is stronger, more secure and far more dangerous than ever before.
