The Feeling That the Time for Doing Something Has Passed

From filmmaker Joanna Arnow and executive producer Sean Baker (TANGERINE, THE FLORDA PROJECT) comes this hilarious new film about a 30-something New Yorker—played by Arnow—stumbling through millennial mundanity as she navigates her long-term casual BDSM relationship, low-level corporate job, and quarrelsome Jewish family. Outrageous, indecent, and perfectly wry, Arnow’s feature debut is a blistering take on the indignities of sex, love, and work in the modern world.

“Joanna Arnow’s poignant and original performance—refined in its awkwardness, exalted in its degradation, touched with grace in its rude self-presentation—is a double masterwork of acting and directing.” (New Yorker)

“… gives new and unexpected, but by no means unwelcome, meaning to cringe comedy. Deadpan and droll in equal measure, Joanna Arnow’s film brilliantly and hilariously examines millennial angst through the discomfiting lens of BDSM.” (That Shelf)

“Some films are destined for nervous laughter, with enough of a pungent aftertaste to linger. This is one of them.” (Chicago Tribune)

“Joanna Arnow’s feature debut is a blisteringly funny take on millennial malaise and the search for reciprocal companionship.” (Little White Lies)
