The Rio Theatre’s Friday Late Night Movie series continues on May 3 with a viewing of George Lucas’ iconic 1977 film, STAR WARS.

Luke Skywalker begins a journey that will change the galaxy in Star Wars Episode IV – A New Hope. Nineteen years after the formation of the Empire, Luke is thrust into the struggle of the Rebel Alliance when he meets Obi–Wan Kenobi, who has lived for years in seclusion on the desert planet of Tatooine. Obi–Wan begin Luke’s Jedi training as Luke joins him on a daring mission to rescue the beautiful Rebel leader Princess Leia from the clutches of Darth Vader and the evil Empire.

Starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Alec Guinness, Yoda, C-3P0, Chewbacca, R2-D2, and Darth Vader.

STAR WARS: EPISODE IV – A NEW HOPE (George Lucas, 1977 / 124 mins / PG / 1997 Re-Release) Young farm boy Luke Skywalker is thrust into a galaxy of adventure when he intercepts adistress call from the captive Princess Leia. The event launches him on a daring mission to rescue her from the clutches of Darth Vader and the evil Empire.
