Somm 4: Cup of Salvation | Wine Tasting + Film Night

Join us at the Rio Theatre on Monday, November 27 for a screening of filmmaker Jason Wise’s fourth installment of his acclaimed SOMM wine documentary film series, CUP OF SALVATION.

The most provocative story in wine today, “Cup of Salvation” is a sweeping documentary film that dives into wine’s complex history, exploring the crossroads of wine, religion, politics, war and family. The award-winning creators of the acclaimed SOMM documentary film series interweave wine’s ancient evolution with the incredible, current-day true story of an American winemaker’s dangerous journey back to her homeland to resurrect her family’s ancestral vines. From the birthplace of wine in the rugged, war-torn Caucus Mountains, to an inside-look at Vatican archives, to the forbidden vineyards of the Iranian countryside, Cup of Salvation unearths the origin of our love affair with wine and how it continues to shape the human story.

Filmmaker Jason Wise will be joining us for a live, virtual Q&A immediately following the film.
