Scream (30th Anniversary Screening)
The Rio Theatre‘s deep dive into Halloween classics continues on October 26 with a 30th Anniversary screening Wes Craven‘s game-changing 1996 slasher comedy (yes, that’s a thing) SCREAM.
“Horror icon Wes Craven’s subversive deconstruction of the genre is sly, witty, and surprisingly effective as a slasher film itself, even if it’s a little too cheeky for some.” (Rotten Tomatoes)
“No one will ever consider Wes Craven’s ‘Scream’ as Oscar fodder, but this funny and scary little experiment in terror from the man who invented “Nightmare on Elm Street” puts some fun back into a very tired genre.” (Newsweek)
