Rock ‘n Roll High School + The Ramores LIVE!

Will your school be NEXT?

Hey, ho… Let’s go!

Well, maybe you don’t care about history (cause that’s not where you want to be), but you really should care about catching one of the greatest high school musical comedies ever made – Roger Corman’s ROCK ‘N’ ROLL HIGH SCHOOL.

Even better? The night will feature a live performance from East Vancouver’s own Ramores, who are set to perform the band’s fifth album, “End of the Century” (which, of course, includes the single “Rock ‘n’ Roll High School”) in its entirety! The band have been electrifying audiences with their tribute to punk legends the Ramones since 2000, and have earned their reputation for wild shows that whip audiences into a frenzy as they perform some of the greatest punk songs of all time – with non-stop intensity, relentless playing and an authentic stage presence that’ll have you doing a double take.

ROCK ‘N’ ROLL HIGH SCHOOL was produced by late icon of cinema Roger Corman, and starred P.J. Soles (HALLOWEEN, CARRIE) as teen punker Riff Randall as The Ramones number one fan. This slice of 70’s Americana is a joyous, sugar-fueled love letter to teenage rebellion and Mad Magazine-styled surrealism, and features the big screen debut of punk rock pioneers the Ramones at their peak. With Vincent Van Patten, Clint Howard.

“A bonafide love letter to the punk juggernauts that ruled music in the 70’s and 80’s.” (Cinema Crazed)

About the Band:

The Ramores is full of punk rock pedigree – the guys learned to play their instruments from listening to the Ramones, and have played in some of Vancouver’s best punk rock bands. On vocals is Joey (The Jolts), on guitar is Donny (The Isotopes), on bass is Grassy (Sore Points), and on drums is
T.Jay (Wait//less).

ROCK ‘N’ ROLL HIGH SCHOOL (Allan Arkush, 1979 / 93 mins / PG) Vince Lombardi High School continues to lose its school principles. The students are more concerned with rock ‘n’ roll than their education until the new principle, Miss Evelyn Togar is hired. She promises to set Vince Lombardi High School straight, and get the students focus back on education. However, a Ramones concert is coming to town, and Riff Randall, the biggest Ramones fan at the high school, plans on getting tickets to the concert in order to give them a song that she wrote entitled “Rock N’ Roll High School.” A series of events including Miss Togar taking away Riff’s tickets, a record burning and a taking over of the school…
