Perfect Days

Acclaimed writer director Wim Wenders‘ and co-writer Takuma Takasaki teamed up for PERFECT DAYS, a thoughtful and meditative ilm  depicting one man’s attempt to control his life. Hirayama is content with his life as a toilet cleaner in Tokyo. Outside of his structured routine he
cherishes music on cassette tapes, books, and taking photos of trees. Through unexpected encounters,
he reflects on finding beauty in the world. Adored by audiences and critics at festivals around the world, the film has won numerous accolades, most notably a Best Actor award for star Koji Yakusho at the Cannes Film Festival, and a Best International Feature Film Oscar nomination.

“An absorbing slice-of-life drama led by a remarkable Kôji Yakusho performance, Perfect Days adds a quietly soaring gem to director/co-writer Wim Wenders’ estimable filmography.” (Rotten Tomatoes)

“Perhaps, in its polite and unassuming way, the film advocates not just a new way of looking, but also a new way of living.” (Observer UK)

“Zen and the art of toilet cleaning? You’d better believe it. This is as gentle as it gets — a humble little film, maybe, but an enriching one. It’s a soul-cleanse.” (Empire Magazine)

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and this film shows us that we could all use a look through the lens that both Hirayama and Wim Wenders use to appreciate the overlooked jewels in this life better.” (Film Threat)
