Orca: The Killer Whale

Terror just beneath the surface.

The killer whale is one of the most intelligent creatures in the universe. Incredibly, he is the only animal other than man who kills for revenge.

He has one mate, and if she is hared by man, he will hunt down that person with a relentless, terrible vengeance – across seas, across time, across all obstacles.

Steven Spielberg‘s 1975 blockbuster about a seemingly vengeful shark hell-bent on spending its summer terrorizing the inhabitants of a small town made waves at the box office, leaving its bloody indelible mark on cinema in more ways than one. In fact, JAWS was such a sensation that it spawned its own sub-genre (no pun intended) of so-called ” JAWS-ploitation” knock-offs, including producer Dino De Laurentiis‘ campy psychological eco-thriller about a ruthless, profiteering fisherman (Richard Harris) facing the wrath of a wildly intelligent and cunning killer whale after accidentally killing its pregnant mate.

It’s ORCA: THE KILLER WHALE! JAWS meets ‘Moby Dick’ as the bounty hunter becomes the target of the enraged, grief-stricken creature’s craving for vengeance. (To the music of Ennio Morricone!) With Charlotte Rampling, Will Sampson, Bo Derek, Keenan Wynne, and Robert Carradine.
