“How can you trust a man who wears both a belt and suspenders, a man who can’t even trust his pants?”
Sergio Leone‘s iconic saga ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST is one of the defining films of the so-called “spaghetti Western” genre. Released in 1968, it stars Henry Fonda as Frank and Charles Bronson as Harmonica, two men who work together to protect widow Jill McBain (Claudia Cardinale) from an assassin. Sergio Donati and Leone wrote the screenplay for the film based on a story by Dario Argento.
“The epic spaghetti Western features an excellent score from Ennio Morricone, sweeping cinematography, and a gritty cast with rugged features that are great for Leone’s close-up and long takes.” (Nerd Reactor)
“An additional treat is seeing Hollywood good guy Henry Fonda playing one of the nastiest curs in the West. Once Upon a Time in the West is one of the great films in cinema history.” (Austin Chronicle)
“Good fun, especially if you like Leone’s way of savoring the last morsel of every scene.” (Roger Ebert)
