Napoleon Dynamite (20th Anniversary Screening)

He's out to prove he's got nothing to prove.

“Vote for me, and all your wildest dreams will come true.”

Jared Hesssweeeeet feature debut (which he co-wrote) was one of 2004’s sleeper-est comedy hits – following its breakthrough at the Sundance Film Festival, this indie darling went on to gross almost 50 million dollars, established itself as one of the most quotable cult-classics ever, and introduced us all  to both the magic of ligers and the intense appeal of llamas as pets.

In small-town Preston, Idaho, awkward teen Napoleon Dynamite has trouble fitting in. After his grandmother is injured in an accident, his life is made even worse when his strangely nostalgic uncle, Rico shows up to keep an eye on him. With no safe haven at home or at school, Napoleon befriends the new kid, Pedro, a morose Hispanic boy who speaks little English. Together the two launch a campaign to run for class president. With Jon Heder, Efren Ramirez, Jon Gries, and Tina Majorino.
