McQueen

Alexander McQueen‘s rags-to-riches story is a modern-day fairy tale, laced with the gothic. Mirroring the savage beauty, boldness and vivacity of his design, this documentary is both a personal look at the extraordinary life, career and artistry of the celebrated fashion icon and a revelation of McQueen’s own world, both tortured and inspired, which celebrates a radical and mesmerizing genius of profound influence. Through exclusive interviews with his closest friends and family, recovered archives, exquisite visuals and music, MCQUEEN is an authentic celebration and thrilling portrait of an inspired yet tortured fashion visionary

““McQueen” works both as a spectacular visual album of his work and an achingly moving account of the incomplete life behind it.” (Variety)

“What the film does so movingly as a portrait is show the isolation that comes with creative success.” (Rolling Stone)

“McQUEEN is a haunting biography that goes beyond even that live runway experience to conjure the visionary himself, in as much as he may ever be known – and in a way even his savagely beautiful clothes themselves cannot.” (Globe and Mail)
