It’s a Wonderful Knife (Filmmakers in Attendance!)

This Christmas, your wishes will come true... and your nightmares too.

Filmmakers in attendance!

Join us at the Rio Theatre as we deck the halls (with buckets of blood) for a very special screening of director Tyler MacIntyre‘s (TRAGEDY GIRLS) dark Christmas horror comedy IT’S A WONDERFUL KNIFE… Starring none other than the Rio Theatre!

With a nod to some of the great Christmas horror films of yore and shot in and around Vancouver, MacIntyre’s film re-imagines IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE by way of SCREAM – and includes several pivotal scenes that were shot at ye olde Rio Theatre.

A year after saving her town from a psychotic killer on Christmas Eve, Winnie Carruthers’ life is less than wonderful — but when she wishes she’d never been born, she finds herself in a nightmare parallel universe and discovers that without her, things could be much, much worse. Now the killer is back, and she must team up with the town misfit to identify the killer and get back to her own reality. Also starring Jane Widdop (YELLOWJACKETS) Joel McHale, Justin Long, Katharine Isabelle.

“[Justin Long] steals the show once again. His have-at-it fun and eerie eyes provide a manic glee that the rest of director Tyler MacIntyre’s oddly tempered slasher riff on Frank Capra’s Christmas classic could stand to match.” (Variety)

“Between Justin Long’s uncanny veneers and a bloodthirsty killer, it looks like [director] Tyler MacIntyre and [screenwriter] Michael Kennedy’s collaboration is just what we wanted to find under the tree this holiday season.” (Dread Central)
