Interstellar

Mankind was born on Earth. It was never meant to die here.

Christopher Nolan assembled a cinematic galaxy of some of Hollywood’s biggest stars for his astounding 2014 space epic INTERSTELLAR, an odyssey boasting ambitious themes and complex scientific ideas, breathtaking visuals, and a striking emotional depth that delves into meaningful “sci-fi” ideas about love, human connection, and and humanity’s own role in the cosmos. Set against the backdrop of Earth’s imperiled near-future, mankind is grappling with a reality that includes a global crop blight and second Dust Bowl that are slowly rendering the planet uninhabitable. Matthew McConaughey takes the lead as Professor Brand, a brilliant NASA physicist, who is working on plans to save the planet by transporting Earth’s population to a new home via a wormhole. But first, Brand must send former NASA pilot Cooper and a team of researchers through the wormhole and across the galaxy to find out which of three planets could be mankind’s new home.

Enhanced by a lush score from Hans Zimmer, the film stars Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Jessica Chastain, David Oyelowo, Ellen BurstynTimothée Chalamet, Topher Grace, John Lithgow.

“‘Interstellar’ represents more of the thrilling, thought-provoking, and visually resplendent filmmaking moviegoers have come to expect from writer-director Christopher Nolan, even if its intellectual reach somewhat exceeds its grasp.” (Rotten Tomatoes)

“Staggeringly beautiful, bafflingly complex, this is proper event cinema.” (Times UK)

“It’s his [Nolan’s] ‘White Album,’ overlong and overwritten, corny and self-important, and also a great movie. And yes, it can be all of those things at once.” (Flavorwire)

“This is one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen.” (Richard Roeper)
