What you can’t have, you can’t resist.
Proving that a good plot and strong characters make for timeless storytelling in any era, CRUEL INTENTIONS is a 90s adaptation of Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ 1782 novel “Les Liaisons dangereuses,” that was released on the heels of both Stephen Frears’ DANGEROUS LIAISIONS (John Malkovich, Glenn Close, Uma Thurman) and Milos Forman’s VALMONT (Annette Benning, Colin Firth, Meg Tilly). Set among uber-privileged teens in New York City, CRUEL INTENTIONS made stars out of Ryan Phillipe, Reese Witherspoon, Selma Blair, and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
