On a frozen highway in the remote Canadian North, an Indigenous woman and her dog are hunted by a stranger in a semi truck. Tracy (Roseanne Supernault) is on a 12 hour road trip with her dog Pretzel, trying to get home before her mom passes into the spirit world. Each mile takes her further from civilization, safety or warmth.
Tracy’s alone – except – for a truck driver that’s following her. A big rig starts to toy with her… like a cat playing with a mouse. Night’s coming, the temperature drops, gas is low. By the time Tracy realizes she’s being stalked, it’s too late to turn back. She has no choice but fight for her life.
A modern Indigenous thriller from Dene filmmaker Kelvin Redvers, inspired by pulpy thrillers of the 70s and 80s. As the world craves stories from new voices, Cold Road delivers thrills, stunts, and heart – a gritty genre film from a completely fresh POV. You’ll feel like you need a seatbelt.
