Coast Mountain Film Fest: Snowboard Night
The COAST MOUNTAIN FILM FEST turns the Rio Theatre over to snowboarders for a late-night throwback to one of the most memorable team films of its era.
CAPiTA: DEFENDERS OF AWESOME hit screens in 2011 with a stacked roster of riders and quickly became a snapshot of an incredible period in snowboard culture. Featuring some of the biggest names in the sport — including nominees for ‘Men’s Rider of the Year,’ ‘Women’s Rider of the Year’ and ‘Rookie of the Year’ — it delivers huge riding, unmistakable style and the energy of classic snowboard filmmaking.
Now CAPiTA: DEFENDERS OF AWESOME is coming back to the big screen for a proper throwback celebration.
Grab your crew and join a theatre full of snowboarders for films, prizes, good times and a healthy dose of nostalgia as we get ready for another winter in the mountains. And, sure, we’ll show some amazing shorts from the 2026 season too!
