Bones and All
Bones and All
BONES AND ALL reunites Oscar-winning director Luca Guadagnino with his CALL ME BY YOUR NAME stars Timothée Chalamet and Michael Stuhlbarg for an entirely different kind of coming-of-age love story set in the 80s. This moody, unconventional, and deeply romantic tale of first love between Maren (a young woman learning how to survive on the margins of society) and Lee (an intense and disenfranchised drifter) follows them as they meet and join together for a thousand-mile odyssey which takes them through the back roads, hidden passages and trap doors of Ronald Reagan’s America. But despite their best efforts, all roads lead back to their unusual, terrifying pasts and to a final stand that will determine whether their love can survive their “otherness.” With Taylor Russell, André Holland, David Gordon Green, Mark Rylance and Jessica Harper.
“A love story about two pretty young cannibals won’t strike everyone as an appetizing dish. But you won’t be able to take your eyes off Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell as they try to reconcile romance with killer impulses on a road trip through hell.” (ABC News)
“The beauty [Luca Guadagnino] finds in the savagery of these two outsiders’ affliction merges with the sweetness of a story of first love. Is a heartthrob still a heartthrob if he’s soaked in blood? Here, the answer is yes.” (Time Out)
“This unconventional horror tale/romance blends queasiness and sincerity with one of the year’s best supporting performances by Mark Rylance.” (Chicago Daily Herald)
“This ‘Romeo & Juliet’ about cannibals is creepy and seductive, fluid, gorgeously shot and gracefully acted.” (AARP)
“A gory shocker that comes with plenty of familiar horror-movie elements, but plays far more like a classic road romance.” (Polygon)
