Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure

Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure

“The best place to be is here….”

Join us at the Rio Theatre for a totally awesome, prime time screening of BILL AND TED’S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE, a true 80s cult-classic starring Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter, and the late, great, George Carlin.

Bill (Winter) and Ted (Reeves) are high school buddies starting a band. However, they are about to fail their history class, which means Ted would be sent to military school. They receive help from Rufus (Carlin), a traveler from a future where their band is the foundation for a perfect society. With the use of Rufus’ time machine, Bill and Ted travel to various points in history, returning with important figures to help them complete their final history presentation.

“Reeves, with his beguilingly blank face and loose-limbed, happy-go-lucky physical vocabulary, and Winter, with his golden curls, gleefully good vibes and ‘bodacious’ vocabulary, propel this adventure as long as they can.” (Variety)

“This is extremely silly, good natured, superficial stuff; a lot depends on whether you take to Bill and Ted’s unique lingo (which contorts surfers’ expressions) and their gormless behaviour.” (Time Out)

“As these high school goofballs travel back in time to score some heavy dudes like Napoleon, Socrates, and Billy the Kid for their history presentation, they wrote themselves into the teen-movie pantheon.” (Austin Chronicle)
