Music lives forever.
Shake your rump with us on Tuesday, May 3 for a double bill to toast, honour, and celebrate two of our absolute, hands down, no questions asked and don’t think twice about it all-time favourite bands – A Tribe Called Quest and The Beastie Boys.
On October 9, 2004, The Beastie Boys gave out 50 camcorders to a lucky group of audience members at the final, sold out night of their “Challah at Your Boy” tour in New York City’s Madison Square Garden, with one one simple instruction: Keep the cameras rollin’ at all times. The result? Director “Nathaniel Hornblower’s” (hint: he’s got a beard like a billy goat) crafty concert film AWESOME; I FUCKIN’ SHOT THAT!

AWESOME; I FUCKIN’ SHOT THAT (Adam Yauch, 2006 / 90 mins) | The Beastie Boys let their fans do the shooting in a concert film that truly puts the viewer right in the middle of all the action. With a mix of fifty DV and Hi-8 cameras distributed to shutter-bug fans, director Nathaniel Hornblower and supervising editor Neal Usatin skillfully edit the resulting amateur footage into a kaleidoscopic, rough-edged take on the typically slick, professionally shot concert video.
