Once a champion racer, Zhang Chi has hit rock bottom as a down-and-out driving instructor, barely scraping by on his fading fame. But then, out of the blue, the owner of a nearly bankrupt low-speed electric vehicle factory offers to sponsor him to assemble a team and compete in the final Bayanbulak Rally. Tempted by this sudden windfall, Zhang is eager to seize the opportunity—yet the factory owner’s true motives remain shrouded in mystery. Li Xiaohai, a driver who joins with financial backing, appears innocent and kind but possesses extraordinary talent that seems at odds with his background.Zhang gathers his old friends Sun Yuqiang and Ji Xing, and together with prodigy driver Li Xiaohai and Liu Xiande—a rookie driving school student who can’t seem to pass the license test—they form a ragtag, chaotic team. Amidst endless hurdles and nonstop comedy, they navigate one challenge after another, laughing through the struggles as they race toward
the competition. This time, Zhang will cross the finish line that has appeared in his dreams countless times.

Takeuchi Ryo’s connection with China began in 2011 when he filmed a documentary about the Yangtze River for Japan's NHK TV station. After travelling 6,300 kilometres along the river, he was captivated by China's natural landscapes and local customs, which sparked his idea of moving to China. A decade later, having almost become half-Chinese, Takeuchi decided
to retrace his journey along the Yangtze River. He reunited with people he had interviewed years before, documented the changes over the past ten years, and ultimately completed the documentary film ‘Long Time No See, Yangtze’. In this film, Takeuchi takes the audience from Shanghai upstream along the Yangtze, showcasing China's rapid development over the past decade by portraying the changes in the lives of people along the river.
