CHAMBERS

Chambers is a collaboration between Gabriel Saloman and Michael Red, who loosely describe the project as “experimental dub,” initially inspired by Rhythm & Sound. Gabriel plays guitar, tapes, and live analog processes. Michael uses a laptop with midi-controllers set up like a traditional dubwise mixing desk, creating new “versions” on the spot and adding further processing to Gabriel’s signal.

SISTERS OF SEANCE

In a rattling cauldron of monastic oscillations and swirling dune-bound synth melodies, Sisters of Seance follows a herd of cloaked necromancers along the desert of cultic massacre and into a field of floating temples. Luke Rogers (member of electronic experimentalists Basketball) uses a range of synthesizers, drum machines and acoustic string instruments to create hypnotic ballads which flow into otherworldly and quasi-psychedelic soundscapes.

SCANT INTONE

Scant Intone is the solo project of Canadian artist Constantine Katsiris dedicated to experiments in modern audio. The output varies from stark minimalist tones to densely complex textures with a sound palette that incorporates elements of field recordings, shortwave radio, hand-drawn waveforms, raw data, and digital sound synthesis. Focused on researching psychoacoustics, the perception of sound, spatiality, waveform anomalies, and various audio phenomena discovered while exploring the frequency spectrum, his compositions are excursions in abstract electronic music with influences including ambient, lowercase, microsound, noise, glitch, and drone.
Constantine has been active in exploring the electronic arts since the mid-1990s as an artist, curator, designer, and producer. Over a period of more than fifteen years he has been integral in organizing countless events for experimental, improvised, and electronic music both locally and abroad. These events have featured performances by artists from across Canada as well as international artists from all over the globe. This experience lead him to be involved with programming showcases for world-renowned festivals and booking tours for artists on Panospria, his own sub-label of No Type Records based in Montréal.
Live performances have been numerous over the past years, including many collaborations and improvisations with like-minded audio and video artists. Katsiris has brought his sound to many notable venues, such as Whitechapel Art Gallery [London], La Société des Arts Technologiques [Montréal], Brut Konzerthaus [Vienna], and SESI Art & Cultural Center [São Paulo]. Scant Intone has also shared the stage with Fennesz, Crys Cole, Tim Hecker, Jason Lescalleet, Sawako, KK Null, and Zbigniew Karkowski, to name a few.

GUNSHAE (The Konspiracy Group/Ohm Resistance)

Gunshae is live ambience at its most beguiling, an exploration of the grey area between electronic and classical musics.
It’s molten woodwinds and Satie in dub. It’s heavy drones and show tunes played by a band sitting on a veranda with Wong Kar-Wai. It’s discrete music for the wifi generation. Tossing aside classical music’s obsession with adherence to the written score and live electronic performance’s stereotype of one guy behind a laptop checking his email, both members of Gunshae have been known to start the show on stage and finish up in the audience. Gunshae are not your average sound art duo or ambient performance act.
Breaking down barriers between audience and performer, Gunshae is as happy in the chill out room as it is the art gallery or concert hall. Each performance is completely unique, site/audience specific and completely devoted to embracing the moment.
These are Cascadian lullaby makers, crafting soundtracks made for trans-continental smudged sunsets.

With years of experience and forward thinking, SiAdic has transformed to a deep, progressive downtempo soundscape. Providing vibrant live experiences, they’ve synchronized organic and electronic elements, layering together a one of a kind performance. Influenced by classical instruments, they reveal stunning connections between live integrations and contemporary engineering of bass-heavy sound. Unusual to any genre, Siadic keeps your imagination diverse and prominent.

FILIP GORECKI

For a thousand years Filip Gorecki has been searching for the perfect sample. Inspired by the Science Fiction books he was given to read as a kid. Gorecki’s sound is filled with rich storytelling and other worldly parables; sound exploration and design. Gorecki has performed locally over the years at New Forms Festival, Quiet City and Angura. Yet more recently his music video ‘Cyborg’ was screened at Render; International Music Video Festival. You can find his latest release on Panospria.

FADE TO BLACK

Fade to Black is the heir to the shadows. An echo in the darkness. A long fatal love chase in the shadow of the decline. Famous last words of his master’s voice. Imaginary landscapes in flames from here to eternity. Endings and beginnings. The agony and ecstasy. Rememberance of things past. A handful of dust, all watched over by machines of loving grace. A lantern in the hand of the dwellers on the threshold of the future.
