For Pride this year the Rio Theatre is rolling out the rainbow carpet to welcome back Vancouver Pride & the return of Dandy’s BIG GAY CABARET! Celebrate with us in a interactive comedy cabaret hosted by the award-winning host and social media sensation DANDY!

Will we show the devilish entertainment review columnist ALABASTER CRUMB (Jordy Matheson) that we have the goods to make the gayest cabaret the city has ever seen! Is that actually Barbra Streisand? Which Muppet is finally coming out of the long forgotten closet? Get all the gay answers from the man whom readers of the Georgia Straight said was BEST OF VANCOUVER 2023 (runner up) and the local burlesque community awarded HOST OF THE YEAR 2024. DANDY (tiktok star @dandyandfriends) curates a cabinet of charismatic, queer, cabaret creators with- Live singing! Show stopping dance! Drag-comedy! And tantalizing lesbian burlesque! Not to mention leaving room for a few fun surprises! You might not be gay when you sit down, but research shows that attending this show will make you at least a little bit bisexual. HUZZAH!

Dandy (he/him) is the award-winning host made popular on TikTok for his viral videos promoting queer joy! Winner of Host of the Year 2024 for Vancouver International Burlesque Festival and awarded runner up in the Georgia Straight’s BEST OF VANCOUVER for his show Drag Attack! – you can catch him regularly on stage in his shows at the iconic Rio Theatre in Vancouver, or touring this Fall between LA and New York City. His all new series Dandyland, which highlights businesses, organizations, and artists in the lower-mainland’s LGBT Community, premiered this Summer on Optik TV and was nominated by the Costume Designers Guild Awards for Excellence in Short Form Design 2024, and WON a CAFTCAD Award for Excellence in Webseries 2024 thanks to already award winning, multi-talented Costume Designer, Rafaella Rabinovich.
