The Big Easy Funk Ensemble celebrates the amazing variety of music that has grown out of New Orleans. With influences from 60s funk legends The Meters and Dr. John to more recent groups like Galactic and Trombone Shorty. BEFE (pronounced ‘beefy’) mixes many genres of funk, jazz and blues to create awesome grooves and epic moments. A Mardi Gras party in 2014 brought the band together for the first time and by the end of the show both the musicians and the audience knew that this group had to continue. Subscura is a performance arts collective comprised of multidisciplinary female artists. The troupe is known for using a unique mix of contemporary dance, hip-hop moves, aerial hoops and character theatrics and they are trained in numerable other forms of dance and circus arts.
