Ghost

Before Sam was murdered, he told Molly he'd love and protect her forever.

“Molly, you in danger girl.”

The Rio Theatre is getting into the Valentine’s Day mood with a screening of one of the most memorable, supernatural romantic fantasy fairy-tale films ever, Jerry Zucker’s GHOST. In one of his most defining performances, Patrick Swayze stars as banker Sam Molly Jensen (Demi Moore) is an artist, and the two are madly in love. However, when Sam is murdered by friend and corrupt business partner Carl Bruner (Tony Goldwyn) over a shady business deal, he is left to roam the earth as a powerless spirit. When he learns of Carl’s betrayal, Sam must seek the help of psychic Oda Mae Brown (Whoopi Goldberg) to set things right and protect Molly from Carl and his goons.  With Tony Goldwyn, Vincent Schiavelli.

“One of the finest (and weepiest) love stories ever to hit the big screen, Ghost is a a fundamental human tale that touches the hardest heart.” (Empire Magazine)

“A perfect balance of laughs and tears, a sparklingly funny script and a clever fantasy about ghostly goings on make this a superior blockbuster romance.” (Film4)

“The passion and poignancy of trying to communicate with the dead is well-exploited here. Moore has never been more fetching.” (Gene Siskel)
