It’s Mushroom Monday at the Rio!
In collaboration with the Rio Theatre, Stephanie Dacre presents to you a premiere
screening of two episodes from The Shroom Boom docuseries. The Shroom Boom
series dives into fungi's impact in British Columbia, showcasing the local people driving
the growth.
The evening will include a premiere screening of:
Episode 1 of the Shroom Boom: Wild Mushrooms and Foraging in B.C
Episode 4 of the Shroom Boom: Psilocybin and Psychedelic Therapy in B.C.
A Q&A Panel with the film maker and special guests.
THE SHROOM BOOM: EPISODE 1 – WILD MUSHROOMS AND
FORAGING (Stephanie Dacre, 2024 / 25 mins / 14A)
In Episode 1, Stephanie Dacre explores wild mushrooms and foraging in B.C. She
interviews commercial and professional foragers, attends Sicamous Mushroom Festival,
and joins Vancouver chefs on a Masutake mushroom hunt.

In Episode 4 of The Shroom Boom, Stephanie explores psilocybin mushroom access in
B.C. She interviews local leaders in the space and dives into psychedelic therapy,
accessibility, community and harm reduction.

TV channel 9 and STORYHIVE’s YouTube Channel. The 6 part series explores wild
foraging, innovative farming, mycelium meat, psilocybin therapy, mushroom music, and
much more. Season 1 of The Shroom Boom was produced with the support of TELUS

Tickets are just $15.
• Rated 14A, Must be 14+ for entry. Persons under 14 must be accompanied by an
adult. Must be 19+ w/ID for bar service.
• Rio Theatre Groupons and passes OK for any single film only. Please redeem at

remaining tickets will be available for in-person purchase at the Rio Theatre’s
