James wrote, directed, and starred in the Golden Globe-winning adaptation of Greg Sestero‘s best-selling memoir that recounted his wild experience making Tommy Wiseau‘s magnum opus THE ROM “The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, the Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made.”

For the uninitiated: A marvel of modern cinema, Tommy Wiseau‘s THE ROOM is so powerful that it will, literally, “tear you apart.” (Or, maybe just your brain. And occasionally your eyeballs.) In the pantheon of you-gotta-see-it-to-believe-it, best-worst movies, it’s quite possible that nothing tops THE ROOM. It’s the CITIZEN KANE of bad movies! Facts: In November of 2013, while filming THE INTERVIEW in Vancouver, actor James Franco saw THE ROOM for the very first time at the Rio Theatre. That screening was hosted by Greg Sestero, who was discussing his recently released memoir, “The Disaster Artist.” The rest, as they say, is history…
