“They’ll never get caught. They’re on a mission from God.”
To mark our run of the new documentary LIVE FROM NY! (opening June 15), we thought the time was right to give a little big screen love to one of our favourite (if not the first!) SNL-inspired movies, THE BLUES BROTHERS. Scripted by Dan Aykroyd and John Landis (who also directed the film), THE BLUES BROTHERS is a comedic and musical giant that features memorable performances, dance numbers, nuns, and an insane who’s-who cast that includes John Belushi, James Brown, Carrie Fischer, Cab Calloway, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Steven Spielberg, John Candy, Frank Oz, and more. (Also: Best car chase sequence in a mall. Ever.)
