Destined for life on the midnight movie circuit, Panos Cosmatos‘ MANDY is one of the most punishing, blood-soaked, hallucinogenic revenge odysseys to hit screens in some time – and a perfect choice to include in our ongoing Friday Late Night Movie series.

Set in the Pacific Northwest’s Shadow Mountains in 1983, MANDY sees Red (Nicolas  Cage, in what many are calling a career-defining performance) and Mandy (Andrea Riseborough) leading a loving and peaceful existence. When their pine-scented haven is savagely destroyed, Red is catapulted into a phantasmagoric journey filled with bloody vengeance – and laced with fire.
