Scream

Someone has taken their love of scary movies one step too far.

The Rio Theatre’s Friday Late Night Movie series continues on Friday, March 3 with Wes Craven’s game-changing 1996 slasher comedy (yes, that’s a thing) SCREAM.

“Horror icon Wes Craven’s subversive deconstruction of the genre is sly, witty, and surprisingly effective as a slasher film itself, even if it’s a little too cheeky for some.” (Rotten Tomatoes)

“No one will ever consider Wes Craven’s Scream Oscar fodder, but this funny and scary little experiment in terror from the man who invented “Nightmare on Elm Street” puts some fun back into a very tired genre.” (Newsweek)

SCREAM (Wes Craven 1996 /  111 min / 14A) The sleepy little town of Woodsboro just woke up screaming. There’s a killer in their midst who’s seen a few too many scary movies. Suddenly nobody is safe, as the psychopath stalks victims, taunts them with trivia questions, then rips them to bloody shreds. It could be anybody…
