Colossal

There's a monster in all of us...

Soon to be cult-hit COLOSSAL is Spanish director Nacho Vigalondo at his visionary best in a genre defying mash-up that’s equal parts sci-fi “kaiju” monster movie and metaphor-laden revenge-fueled romantic(?) drama.

Anne Hathaway stars as Gloria, a woman whose life falls apart when her alcoholism and party-girl tendencies get her fired and kicked out of her apartment by her boyfriend (Dan Stevens). Forced to leave her life in New York and move back to her Middle America hometown, she sets herself up in her parents’ empty house for some self-reflection and re-connection with old high school friends, including her old “pal” Oscar (Jason Sudeikis), who gives her a job at his bar. Spending nights around the old crew (Tim Blake Nelson, Austin Stowell) drinking her nights away dovetails with a seriously strange turn of events for Gloria, who gradually comes to the realization that she is somehow connected to the truly phenomenal giant reptilian creature that is destroying Seoul, South Korea. As events begin to spin out of control, Gloria must determine why her seemingly insignificant existence has such a colossal effect on the fate of the world.

“It’s a sci-fi/horror/psychodrama/comedy/thriller/revenge/romance film – and that jumble of a description not only works, it does so in spectacular fashion.” (Toronto Star)

“From its weird little prologue to a nearly perfect ending, COLOSSAL is a trip in multiple meanings of that word.” (Richard Roeper)
