BRASSLANDS & The Ederlezi Balkan Brass Festival

Join us at the Rio Theatre for a unique evening of film and live music featuring a screening of the documentary BRASSLANDS and a taste of the upcoming Ederlezi Balkan Brass Festival 2015!, featuring music from by Vancouver’s own premiere Balkan Brass band, Orkestar Slivovica.

BRASSLANDS tells the story of a tiny Serbian village that is visited by half a million people during the 50th anniversary of the world’s largest trumpet celebration, the Gucha Trumpet Festival. Demiran Ćerimović , one of the Serbian bandleaders followed in the documentary, will be joining in the music as well as answering questions after the film.

This event is part of Ederlezi Balkan Brass Festival. The main concerts are taking place on May 8 and 9 at the Grandview Legion. For tickets and information, visit orkestarslivovica.org.
