Anina Yatay Salas is a ten-year-old whose name spells trouble. Those three palindromes in a row are an ongoing source of teasing at school. A playground fight results in a mysterious punishment: both kids are given a sealed black envelope which they are not allowed to open for an entire week. Haunted by nightmares, the days drag by endlessly for Anina. She and her inquisitive best friend try to devise all sorts of ways to discover what is inside the envelope. As the week goes on and the pressure of what might be in the envelope mounts, Anina finds that this experience helps her gain a greater understanding of how people often hide behind their problems by pretending to be something they’re not. Anina learns to put her problems in perspective and empathize with others in this sweet little tale.”
