“If this movie doesn’t make your skin crawl… It’s on TOO TIGHT!”

Join us at the Rio Theatre on Saturday, December 23 for a night of Christmas cheer…. and fear! Our marquee is going full-tilt merry-merry with beloved Christmas classics this season, and we’re presenting a colourful night of movie awesome with a WHITE CHRISTMAS / BLACK CHRISTMAS double feature. See one, or see ’em both for the same sweet price!!

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without some holiday horror on the big screen, would it? Margot Kidder, Olivia Hussey and Kier Dullea star in Bob Clark‘s classic (Canadian!) 70s Santa-slasher slay ride BLACK CHRISTMAS. As winter break begins, a group of sorority sisters, including Jess and the often inebriated Barb, begin to receive anonymous, lascivious phone calls. Initially, Barb eggs the caller on, but stops when he responds threateningly. Soon, Barb’s friend Claire goes missing from the sorority house, and a local adolescent girl is murdered, leading the girls to suspect a serial killer is on the loose. But no one realizes just how near the culprit is…
