Isle of Dogs

Isle of Dogs

In this stop-motion-animated film from writer/director Wes Anderson, an outbreak of canine flu in Japan leads all dogs to be quarantined on an island. A boy (voice of Koyu Rankin) journeys there to rescue his dog Spots (Liev Schreiber), and gets help from a pack of misfit canines who have also been exiled. His quest inspires a group of dog lovers to expose a government conspiracy. The voice cast also includes Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson, Tilda Swinton, Bob Balaban, Greta Gerwig, and Yoko Ono.

Wes Anderson’s animated feature Isle of Dogs might be the most lyrically disjunctive movie ever made: Nothing fits together and everything harmonizes, magically.” (Vulture)

There, with the assistance of a pack of newly-found mongrel friends, he begins an epic journey that will decide the fate and future of the entire Prefecture.

Wiener-Dog

Wiener-Dog

Billed as the “spiritual successor” of director Todd Solondz’ (Happiness) much-loved coming-of-age satire Welcome to the Dollhouse, Wiener-Dog is in keeping with darkly comic yet deeply vulnerable tone for which he is best known. This latest film is an anthology featuring people who find their lives inspired or changed by one particularly cute dachshund who… Continue Reading

Eden

Eden

A throwback to the glory days of early 90s French electronica, director Mia Hansen-Løve’s EDEN (a critical hit at 2014’s Toronto Film Festival) marries the music of the era with a compelling dramatic narrative. Inspired by the musings of Hansen-Løve’s brother Sven (a well-known Parisian DJ at the time), EDEN follows a teenager navigating the… Continue Reading
